What is Mountain Mumiyo?

What is Mountain Mumiyo –  it is a natural mountain wax that is black-brown in colour and tar-like and resinous in consistency. It is found in several mountainous areas worldwide such as the Altai, Himalayan and Tibetan mountains.

Ancient Medicine

There are many ancient manuscripts that share information on the variety of uses and applications attributed to Mumiyo. It is commonly used in both traditional and folk medicines for healing ailments such as stomach ulcers and bone fractures.

ians made use of this resinous wax to heal a variety of different diseases and improve the vitality of the body.

Mumiyo has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for centuries and is also known as ‘Shilajit’. When used in Ayurveda it was traditionally sourced from India and Tibet.

How it is made

Mountain Mumiyo is formed from a build up of minerals and plant debris that have been breaking down over long periods of time (often centuries). Over time these substances form a tar-like, resinous wax that exudes from rock areas in higher up mountainous areas. The wax is often wild harvested by being scraped off of rocks, caves and crevices. It is then processed into products that are a very powerful addition to anyone’s health routine.

Health benefits of Mumiyo

Mumiyo has been used successfully in the prevention and treatment of certain infectious diseases as well as displaying immunostimulant and anti-allergy properties. Experiments in vitro have shown that extract of Mumiyo has distinct neuroprotective activity.

Here are a few additional benefits that can potentially be derived from the use of Mumiyo:

  • Anemia – Mumiyo contains high levels of humic acid and iron, which may assist in the treatment of an iron deficiency.
  • Anti-aging – High in fulvic acid which has anti inflammatory and antioxidant properties which are associated with preventing cell damage and reducing free radicals within the body.
  • Antiviral – a wide range of compounds and minerals in Mumiyo may assist in fighting and killing off a variety of viruses.
  • Chronic fatigue – may assist in reducing fatigue and naturally increase the energy levels of the body.
  • Hormonal issues – may assist in hormonal issues associated with the menstrual cycle and skin problems.

Using Mountain Mumiyo

Mumiyo can be used as a supplement that comes in powder form, it can be dissolved into a liquid and it can also be consumed in cedar nut oil to enhance both substances healing properties.
