An old recipe: baked pear jam – an old recipe from central Russia. In the old days they baked the pears in a Russian oven, now you can in bake it in a standard oven. The taste will still be different to regular jam.
Pears are a delicious fruit that hold many health benefits – it is a wonderful aid in digestive health, heart health, weight loss and are linked to lowering a persons risk of diabetes. They have also been known to have anti-inflammatory and anti cancer properties.
There are many different varieties of pears, each one having their own unique flavour and benefits. Of course, homegrown with your own loving energy is always best, but store bought pears will do the trick just as well. You can be sure to impart your own energy as you prepare the pears and cook the jam.
You will need:
- Fresh pears – 1 kg
- Lemon – 1 pc.
- Sugar – 700 gr.
- Water – 400 ml
Preparation for this old recipe for Pear Jam:
- Wash the pears, cut into halves or quarters, remove the pits, and put on a baking sheet cut side up.
- Bake at 180 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
- Wash the lemon, cut into slices, remove the seeds, then pour boiling water and boil for 1-2 minutes.
- Make a syrup of lemon water and sugar
- put the pears in a bowl where the jam will be prepared and pour over the syrup.
- Leave to infuse for 2 hours.
- Lemon slices can be removed or left in, according to your taste.
- After two hours, put the jam on the fire and boil for 15-20 minutes.
- Pack the finished jam hot in sterile jars, close with lids! Soulful tea drinking to you!
